Ellen A. Shapiro is a partner in the firm of Goodman & Shapiro, LLC.  A 1979 cum laude graduate of Suffolk Law School , Attorney Shapiro began her career as a Prosecutor for Norfolk County .   After prosecuting misdemeanors and felonies in all the district courts and Superior Court of Norfolk County , she left the District Attorney's office in 1987 to open her own practice.  Shortly thereafter she met her current partner, Henry A. Goodman and together they founded the Law Offices of Goodman & Shapiro, LLC in 1998.

Attorney Shapiro concentrates in the practice of condominium law.   Within the firm, in addition to representing all aspects of condominium association issues, she oversees the statutory lien enforcement process for the collection of delinquent common fees accounts for the firms' condominium clients, an area of practice which brings her to courts throughout the state on a routine basis.

Attorney Shapiro has been a long time member of CAI-NE, the local chapter of Community Associations Institute.  In 1997, she was recognized for her contributions to the industry, having been nominated and selected as the CAI-NE Attorney of the Year.  In 2001 Attorney Shapiro was elected to the CAI-NE Board of Directors for a three year term and, in 2004 was elected again and is currently serving her third term.  She has been an active member of CAI, serving on the CAI-NE Programs Committee and Golf/Tennis Tournament Committee, is a member and past co-chair of the CAI-NE Attorneys' Committee and is a frequent chapter speaker, moderator and author.  Attorney Shapiro chaired the 2005 Bylaws Task Force and in 2004, she successfully completed a course in Mediation and Conflict Resolution which, in addition to her experience as a community association attorney, qualified her to serve as a member of the panels of neutrals for Condominium Dispute Resolution.  In 2002 she served as Clerk for the Board of Directors and was President of the chapter in 2006 and President of the Board of Directors for Condo Media, the CIA/NE Magazine in 2007 and remains on its Board of Directors.

When Henry Goodman and she passed the Rhode Island Bar, they merged their firm with the Law Office of Frank Lombardi, LLC, to form the firm Goodman, Shapiro & Lombardi, LLC, which now practices in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
